The National Consensus Commission (NCC) will sit with political parties on Thursday to determine the course of action for implementing the recommendations included in the July National Charter 2025.

The meeting will begin at 10:30am at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, according to a commission press release.

The discussions will focus on the modalities of implementing the charter’s reform proposals, with particular emphasis on constitutional, legal, and political aspects.

Ahead of the dialogue, the commission on Wednesday reviewed expert opinions and recommendations received earlier on possible ways to implement the charter. It also reassessed the feedback provided by political parties. Preparations for today’s dialogue were also finalized at the meeting.

Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md Emdadul Haque, Dr Md Ayub Mia, and Monir Haider, special assistant to the Chief Adviser, attended Wednesday’s preparatory session at the commission’s office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

Earlier, on September 7, the NCC held an extensive over three-hour meeting with experts at the Foreign Service Academy to finalize the charter and review possible implementation methods.

The commission has already held multiple informal rounds of talks with political parties and alliances to gather opinions on the charter’s execution, which will be further examined in today’s formal meeting.
