Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman on Monday left Dhaka for a four-day official visit to Malaysia to attend the 14th Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs’ Conference (IPACC).

The conference, jointly organized by the US Indo-Pacific Command and the Malaysian Armed Forces, will be held in Kuala Lumpur, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a release.

Army chiefs from different countries in the Indo-Pacific region will join the event to strengthen friendship and cooperation, share views on addressing common challenges, and discuss coordinated steps in times of regional crises.

ISPR said the visit is expected to further strengthen relations between the Bangladesh Army and other Indo-Pacific nations, while also expanding opportunities for mutual cooperation.

The Army Chief is scheduled to return home on September 27.
