Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today attended the inaugural ceremony of Bangladesh Solar Expo 2026 as the chief guest.

The programme began on Tuesday morning at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital.

Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud presided over the ceremony.

The theme of this year's expo is ‘Make Every Inch of Rooftop Count, Increase Income through Solar Power’.

Power, Energy and Mineral Resources State Minister Anindya Islam Amit, Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Majumder and Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Secretary Mirana Mahrukh were present on the dais.

Ministers, state ministers, members of parliament, secretaries and senior government officials from various ministries also attended the inaugural ceremony.
