The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has launched the distribution process of free textbooks for the 2026 academic year.

To ensure timely delivery and save processing time, the board has made online invoice settlement mandatory this year. The directive was issued recently through a circular signed by NCTB Secretary Prof Md Sahtab Uddin.

Printing presses have already begun printing and supplying textbooks for Ebtedayee, secondary (Bangla and English versions), Dakhil, SSC and Dakhil vocational, and technical levels for the upcoming academic year.

The circular also includes a set of fresh instructions for district and upazila education officers. It asks them to receive books from printing presses in line with NCTB’s technical specifications and approve invoices online as soon as the supplied books are collected.

Textbook delivery and receiving activities will continue even on weekly holidays, it said.

In addition, all district and upazila secondary education officers must update and upload the name, mobile number, and signature of the respective upazila secondary education officer on their user accounts.

Regarding online invoice management, the circular said district, upazila and thana education officers must log in to the designated website using their existing user ID and password to approve textbook invoices online.
