BNP leader and former Dhaka South City Corporation mayoral candidate Engineer Ishraq Hossain has tied the knot with Barrister Nusrat Khan in a family ceremony held on Friday night.
The wedding, organised rather suddenly, took place in an intimate setting attended by close relatives from both families. During the ceremony, Ishraq Hossain exchanged rings with Barrister Nusrat Khan, the eldest daughter of Nur Mohammad Khan — a former Member of Parliament for Tangail-1 and a member of the cabinet of late President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Ishraq Hossain is the eldest son of the late Sadeque Hossain Khoka, former mayor of the undivided Dhaka City Corporation and a prominent BNP leader. He currently serves as a member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Both families have confirmed that the marriage took place in a warm, family-oriented environment. Ishraq’s mother, Ismat Hossain, and the bride’s father, Nur Mohammad Khan, expressed their delight and sought blessings and prayers from all for the newly-wed couple’s future happiness and well-being.
