Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed today said three people were arrested in connection with the vandalism at content creator and influencer Salman Muqtadir's studio as an initial investigation indicates the attack was carried out over a piece of land dispute. 

Speaking to newsmen at the Secretariat, the home minister said the incident took place in Manikdi Nampura area under Cantonment Police Station, where two parties have been involved in a dispute over around 35 kathas of land.

The studio of Muqtadir was set up on the disputed land. 

Ahmed said, one of the parties is a developer, identified as New Guinea Properties, while the other side has a linkage to a senior retired military officer.

According to our preliminary report, the minister said that a number of people went to occupy the land at night on behalf of the retired officer and vandalised several structures erected on the premises. 

One of the structures damaged in the incident was a tin-shed studio belonging to Salman Muqtadir, where content creation activities were carried out, he said.

Police responded after receiving a call through the national emergency service 999, he said. 

Three people have so far been arrested, while police have recovered evidence from the scene, including spent bullet casings and locally made weapons.

The home minister said a detailed investigation into the incident is underway and that legal proceedings are in progress over the issue.

Asked about allegation that the attack was linked to extortion, Ahmed said the allegations were not supported by a specific complaint so far.

He continued that Muqtadir had been a victim of the vandalism, but no case had yet been filed by him as he (Muktadir) specifically said that no one had demanded money from him.

"If he files a specific case, we can investigate it," the home minister said.

The minister said an initial investigation had been conducted into the studio attack, but a more detailed investigation would be required to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

He said further information would be disclosed as the investigation and legal proceedings progress.
