The janaza (funeral prayers) of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Osman Hadi will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed the schedule in a message issued at around 6:30pm on Friday.
The press wing has requested those wishing to attend the janaza not to carry any bags or heavy items. It also announced a complete ban on flying drones over the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban and its surrounding areas during the funeral prayers.
Osman Hadi, who died while undergoing treatment in Singapore, arrived in Dhaka on Friday evening. The aircraft carrying his body — a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG-858) — landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:48pm after departing from Singapore.
According to Inqilab Mancha, Hadi’s body will be taken from the airport to the Dhaka University Central Mosque. Another janaza is scheduled to be held after Zuhr prayers on Saturday at Manik Mia Avenue.
The body will be kept at the mortuary of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. However, the place of burial has not yet been decided.
The flight carrying Hadi’s body left Singapore after 2:00pm Bangladesh time. Although his janaza was scheduled to be held at Angullia Mosque in Singapore at 10:00am, it could not take place due to security concerns.
