The body of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Osman Hadi, who died while undergoing treatment in Singapore, arrived in Dhaka on Friday evening.

The body was brought to Dhaka aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG-858), which landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:48pm after departing Singapore earlier in the day.

According to Inqilab Mancha, Hadi’s body will be taken from the airport to the Dhaka University Central Mosque. His janaza is scheduled to be held tomorrow after Zuhr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue.

The body will later be kept at the morgue of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD). However, a decision regarding his burial has yet to be made.

The flight carrying Hadi’s body left Singapore after 2pm Bangladesh time. Although a janaza was scheduled to be held at Angullia Mosque in Singapore at 10am local time, it was cancelled due to security concerns.

Meanwhile, centring on Osman Hadi’s death, a group of agitated protesters has been blocking Shahbagh since morning. Leaders of Inqilab Mancha, including former DUCSU Vice-President Sadik Kayem, are leading the blockade.
