Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Saturday announced a reward of Tk 5 million for information leading to the arrest of those involved in the attack on Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and Dhaka-8 independent parliamentary candidate Sharif Osman Hadi.

Speaking to journalists in the afternoon, he said the government has also decided to launch “Operation Devil Hunt: Phase Two” to further intensify ongoing drives by law enforcement agencies to recover looted and illegal firearms across the country.

Meanwhile, police have preliminarily identified one of the shooters involved in the attack. The public has been urged to inform the police if anyone has information about the suspect, with assurance that informants will be rewarded.

In a press release, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said the identity of anyone providing information about the accused will be kept confidential and appropriate rewards will be given.
