A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed five accused on a four-day remand each in a case filed under the Arms Act with Mohammadpur Police Station in connection with the killing of top terrorist Tarik Saif Mamun.
The investigation officer of the case, Inspector Md Sajjad Hossain of DB’s Kotwali Zonal Team, sought their remand before the court, which granted the plea.
The accused are Md Faruk Hossain Faisal (38), Robin Ahmed alias Piyas (25), Md Rubel (34), Shamim Ahmed (22), and Md Yusuf Jibon (42).
On November 10, Mamun was shot dead in Old Dhaka.
Police initially suspect the killing resulted from an underworld feud.
