The Election Commission (EC) is set to hold dialogues with political parties from Thursday, 13 November, ahead of announcing the schedule for the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

The information was confirmed on Sunday (9 November) by Md Ruhul Amin Mallik, Director (Public Relations) at the EC Secretariat.

He said the commission has decided to begin the dialogue with political parties on November 13, to be held in two sessions — morning and afternoon.

However, the commission is reportedly planning not to invite the Jatiya Party, JASAD, Ganatantri Party, Zaker Party, Tariqat Federation, Samyabadi Dal, and National Awami Party, along with other components of the 14-party alliance. The schedule for meetings with each party has not yet been finalised.

The EC has already started engaging with different stakeholders ahead of the upcoming parliamentary election, and preparations are now underway for discussions with political parties.

According to EC sources, preparations for organising the 13th National Parliamentary Election in the first half of February next year are nearly complete.

The commission aims to finalise its preliminary preparations within this month and announce the election schedule in the first week of December.
