Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan has tendered his resignation from the post of Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University of Dhaka.On Sunday, he formally handed over his resignation letter to Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon, said his protocol officer Mohammad Firoz.“The Vice-Chancellor submitted his resignation letter to the minister on Sunday morning. However, the ministry has not yet issued any official notification. Further procedures will be completed once the resignation is accepted,” Firoz said.Prof Khan has also applied to the President, in his capacity as Chancellor, seeking to return to his substantive post as a Grade-1 Professor in the Department of Development Studies at the university.According to sources at the Ministry of Education, the Vice-Chancellor cited personal and administrative reasons for stepping down.
