Nomination papers have been collected on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tareque Rahman to contest the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election from the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency.

The nomination form was formally obtained around 12:30pm on Sunday from the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

A five-member senior delegation of Bogura district BNP, led by its President Rezaul Karim Badsha, collected the nomination papers from the office of Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Toufiqul Rahman.

This will be Tareque Rahman’s first time contesting a parliamentary election.

During the last BNP-led government (2001–2006), he served as the party’s Joint Secretary General. He was elected Senior Joint Secretary General at the party’s national council held in 2009 and has been serving as the Acting Chairman of the BNP since 2018.
