Visa’s Asia Pacific President Stephen Karpin met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to accelerate the growth of digital commerce in Bangladesh, strengthen payment security and support the country’s broader digital transformation.
Karpin arrived in Bangladesh on Monday on a three-day visit and is scheduled to stay until August 12.
He is accompanied by Suresh Shetty, Visa’s Group Country Manager for India and South Asia.
The visit comes as Bangladesh seeks to expand its digital economy and strengthen secure, efficient and accessible digital payment systems.
