Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is prepared to offer €10 billion to purchase Spanish football club FC Barcelona, according to El Chiringuito journalist Francois Gallardo.

Gallardo said in a post on X that the proposed takeover could face resistance from club members, who have the authority to block such a sale through the club’s presidential election process.

The development comes amid leadership uncertainty at Barcelona, as current president Joan Laporta has earlier announced that he will not seek re-election. His current term is set to expire in 2027.

Barcelona, one of the world’s most successful football clubs, is currently owned by its members under a long-standing socio model, making any ownership change subject to internal approval.
