Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has hinted she may run for president again in 2028, saying she is “not done” with politics and remains confident America will see a woman in the White House.
In an interview with the BBC, Harris said she “possibly” could be that woman, making her clearest suggestion yet of another bid after losing to Donald Trump in last year’s election.
Rejecting polls that rank her as an outsider for the Democratic nomination, Harris said she never pays attention to numbers. “If I listened to polls, I wouldn’t have run for my first or second office—and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” she said.
She also renewed her criticism of Trump, calling him a “tyrant” who has “weaponised” federal agencies and stifled dissent.
Harris recently released 107 Days, a memoir of her 2024 campaign, reflecting on her brief but turbulent race after Joe Biden dropped out amid health concerns.
