Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar has alleged that one or two advisers are attempting to mislead Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.
He made the allegation on Thursday while addressing a national seminar titled “Legal Basis of the July National Charter: Referendum and PR System in Elections” held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka.
Speaking on the occasion, Golam Parwar emphasised that every political party has the right to express criticism, but such criticism must be made in decent and polite language.
The Jamaat leader also claimed that ahead of the upcoming 13th national election, some political parties are allegedly trying to influence the transfer of officials to suit their own interests.
He urged the Chief Adviser to include a proposal in the July Charter to ensure proportional representation (PR) in both the upper and lower houses of parliament.
