Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus has transferred his voter registration from Mirpur to Gulshan area in the capital.
According to sources at the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat, Dr Yunus applied for the change in February this year, and the Director General of the National Identity Registration Wing (NID), A S M Humayun Kabir, later approved his application.
Data from the NID database show that Dr Yunus had been registered as a voter using the address of Grameen Bank Complex in Mirpur.
Following the change, his voter address has been shifted to Gulshan-2 under Ward No. 19 of Dhaka North City Corporation, which falls under the Dhaka-17 constituency.
On February 2 this year, Dr Yunus submitted a written application to the NID authorities to change his voter address.
Subsequently, on February 17, NID DG A S M Humayun Kabir approved the request, and the transfer process was completed the following day, February 18.
