According to ISPR, between October 2 and 9, various units under different infantry divisions and independent brigades of the army, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, conducted joint drives in the capital and several districts.
During the week-long operations, a total of 224 individuals were arrested on various charges, including theft, illegal arms possession, looting of police stations, and drug trading and abuse.
Security forces also seized 10 illegal firearms, 9 improvised explosive devices (cocktails), 17 rounds of ammunition of different types, narcotics of both domestic and foreign origin, private cars, motorcycles, mobile phones, and other stolen items.
The arrested individuals were handed over to respective police stations after interrogation and completion of legal formalities.
ISPR said the Bangladesh Army continues regular patrols and security operations nationwide to ensure public safety and is also actively working to calm unrest among workers in industrial areas.
The army has urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest army camp, adding that such coordinated operations will continue to uphold peace and stability across the country.
