Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to inaugurate the four-day annual Deputy Commissioners’ (DC) Conference in Dhaka on Sunday morning, bringing together field-level administrators from across the country to discuss governance priorities and public service delivery.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00am at Osmani Memorial Auditorium, where the prime minister will formally open the conference, according to an official notice issued by the Cabinet Division.

Deputy commissioners from all districts, divisional commissioners, senior secretaries and secretaries of different ministries and divisions are expected to attend the annual conference, which will continue until May 6.

Following the inaugural session, ministers, state ministers and senior government officials are expected to provide policy directives to the deputy commissioners during a series of working sessions, focusing on administration, law and order, development activities and improving public services at the grassroots level.

The annual conference serves as a key platform for the government to review field-level administrative challenges and set priorities for district administrations.

The conference comes amid the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination between the central administration and local authorities for smoother implementation of development programmes and public welfare initiatives across the country.
