Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman, has said the party would establish a state based on equality, knowledge and the dignity of labour if it comes to power.
She made the remarks on Wednesday afternoon at a BNP opinion-sharing meeting with people from different professions of Dhaka-17 constituency, held at the Hatirjheel amphitheatre.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Rahman said the country was facing numerous challenges, but stressed that these could be resolved through proper planning.
“Our problems are many, but solutions are possible through well-planned initiatives. A new dawn of pride awaits us,” she said.
Highlighting what she described as BNP’s politics of planned governance, Dr Rahman said the party aimed to uphold the dignity of labour, ensure the proper valuation of merit and deliver justice. “We want to build a country where the people come before leaders. To achieve that, everyone must work together.”
Reiterating her commitment, she said BNP sought to gift the nation an equality-based, knowledge-driven and labour-respecting state.
Dr Rahman also called for unity among people to rebuild the country.
At the event, BNP leaders announced that the party would publish its election manifesto next Friday. They said the manifesto would identify the problems faced by people from all walks of life and outline plans to address them.
