BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has applied for a travel pass from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to return to Bangladesh on December 25.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday confirmed that Tarique Rahman has collected one-way tickets of Biman Bangladesh Airlines for a scheduled flight for himself and five others. The group includes three family members, his personal assistant, and his press secretary.

According to BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed, the flight is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:55am on December 25.

Salahuddin said the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is making special arrangements to mark Tarique Rahman’s return after nearly one and a half decades.

An official reception committee has been formed by the party to welcome him back, with Salahuddin Ahmed serving as its convener. Earlier on Thursday, a BNP delegation led by him visited the airport as part of the preparatory arrangements.
