Six Bangladeshi peacekeepers were killed and eight others injured when terrorists attacked a United Nations base in Abyei, Sudan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the casualties in a statement issued on Saturday.
In a post on the Bangladesh Army’s verified Facebook page, it said the situation in the area remains unstable and clashes with the terrorists are still ongoing.
The post added that authorities are making all-out efforts to ensure necessary medical treatment and evacuation of the injured peacekeepers. Further details will be shared as more information becomes available.
