A mild earthquake was felt in the capital at around 4:15 pm on Thursday, with the tremor lasting a few seconds. Many residents rushed out of their homes and offices after sensing the sudden jolt.
This comes just five days after the country experienced three separate quakes last Saturday, sparking fresh panic across parts of Dhaka and nearby areas.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far. The Earthquake Unit of the Meteorological Department said it is currently assessing the magnitude and epicentre of the tremor.
Several users on social media reported feeling the quake more strongly on the upper floors of high-rise buildings.
