The Election Commission (EC) is continuing its series of dialogues with political parties ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.

As part of this process, the EC will hold discussions on Wednesday at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon with 12 political parties, including BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.

According to sources, Jamaat-e-Islami, Nationalist Citizen Party (NCP), Bangladesh Minority Janata Party, Insaniyat Biplob, Ganasanghati Andolon and National Democratic Movement (NDM) have been invited to join the talks in the morning session.

From 2 pm, the second session will feature BNP, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), Gono Odhikar Parishad, Nagorik Oikya, Bangladesh Republican Party and the Socialist Party of Bangladesh.

In the last two days, the EC has held dialogues with 24 political parties. Leaders participating in these meetings have emphasized the need for the EC to fully exercise its authority to enforce the electoral code of conduct for ensuring a fair election.

They have also urged the Commission to ensure a level playing field for all contestants.
