Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur on Friday expressed hope that there is no longer any ambiguity over the 13th national parliamentary election following the Chief Adviser’s address to the nation.
Speaking at a programme organised by the party in the capital’s Bijoynagar, Nur welcomed the initiative to hold the national election and the referendum on the July Charter on the same day.
“The July Charter had created political division and differing opinions among parties regarding its implementation, which pushed the national election into uncertainty. The Chief Adviser’s speech has eased much of that confusion,” he said.
Nur also said political parties should now cooperate with the government to ensure the smooth conduct of the election.
Accusing “accomplices of Sheikh Hasina” of orchestrating acts of sabotage across the country to derail the electoral process, he urged all political parties to remain alert and instructed his party leaders and activists to stay vigilant.
