Two days after the government unveiled its hajj packages for 2026, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) on Tuesday announced three separate packages under private management, with the minimum cost set at Tk 5,10,000.

At a press conference held at a city hotel, HAAB revealed the three categories of packages: Special Package at Tk 7,50,000, General Package at Tk 5,50,000 and Economy Package at Tk 5,10,000.

Explaining the variation with government packages, HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumder said that several facilities are included in private packages which are not covered under the government arrangement.

The government packages do not include food expenses. In our private packages, the cost of quality meals for pilgrims is included. Moreover, the qurbani cost has also been incorporated,” he said.

HAAB said the packages have been calculated based on the exchange rate of Tk 32.85 per Saudi riyal. If there is a significant fluctuation in the exchange rate, adjustments will be made later.

On September 28, the government announced its hajj packages for next year. Under the state management, pilgrims will have to spend Tk 6,90,597 under Package-1, Tk 5,58,881 under Package-2, and Tk 4,67,167 under Package-3.

The primary registration for the 2026 hajj began on July 27 and will continue until October 12. Pilgrims need to deposit Tk 3.5 lakh to complete the initial registration.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a total of 127,198 Bangladeshis will be able to perform hajj next year.
