Just three days after slashing prices, Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has once again increased the price of gold in the local market.
The price of 22-carat gold has been raised by Tk 1,155 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new rate at Tk 189,307, effective from Sunday.
In a press release issued on Saturday night, BAJUS said the price was adjusted considering the increase in the rate of pure gold (tezaabi) in the local market.
As per the new tariff, the price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 180,699 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 154,886 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk 128,479 per bhori.
The association also mentioned that the retail price will include 5% VAT as per government regulations and a minimum making charge of 6% set by BAJUS. However, the making charge may vary depending on design and quality.
Earlier on September 17, BAJUS last revised gold prices, reducing Tk 1,470 per bhori, setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 188,152.
