India Moves to Boost U.S. Energy Imports amid Trump’s Pressure over Russian Oil

India has said it is looking to expand purchases of crude oil and natural gas from the United States as part of efforts to diversify its energy supplies, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s criticism over India’s continued imports of discounted Russian oil.Trump said Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had personally assured him that India would stop buying Russian oil — a move that could further tighten pressure on Moscow to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.There will be no oil.
