The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) held its first meeting on Sunday, five days after the long-awaited election, nominating five student representatives to the university’s highest policymaking body, the Senate.The meeting of the newly elected executive committee was held in the lounge adjacent to the vice-chancellor’s office in the morning.Following the meeting, DUCSU General Secretary (GS) SM Forhad said an executive plan will be adopted soon on a weekly and monthly basis.“It was also discussed who would be sent to the Senate from among the elected representatives,” he added.The five representatives nominated for the Senate are—DUCSU Vice President (VP) Sadiq Kayem, GS SM Forhad, Assistant GS Mohiuddin Khan, Tamanna Sabikun Nahar, who secured the highest votes among members, and Transport Secretary Asif Abdullah.Forhad said the decision to nominate the five representatives to the Senate will be published in the form of a gazette.“We also had a detailed discussion on ...
