A total of 1,16,676 candidates secured GPA-5 in this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, with girls once again outperforming boys in achieving the highest grade.
Of the total GPA-5 achievers, 63,896 are girls and 52,780 are boys.
Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan formally announced the results at 10:00 am today, at the conference room of the Education Ministry.
An analysis of the statistics shows that the number of GPA-5 achievers has declined significantly compared to last year.
A total of 1,39,032 students secured GPA-5 in 2025, pointing a fall of 22,356 GPA-5 this year.
Among the total GPA-5 securers, one lakh six thousand nine students secured GPA-5 under the nine general education boards.
The press conference was informed that the average pass rate under the nine general education boards this year is- 64.05 percent.
A total of 18,29,485 candidates appeared in the examinations under the country’s 11 education boards this year, of whom 11,38,877 came out successfully.
Prime Minister's Education Adviser Dr. Mahdi Amin, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md. Abdul Khaleque, Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee President and Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Akhtaruzzaman, and chairmen of different education boards were also present at the press conference.
