Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described examination paper leaks as a grave issue affecting the future of millions of students, pledging stricter legal measures and faster action against those responsible amid growing nationwide protests over alleged exam irregularities. 

In a late-night video message released on Thursday, Modi said paper leaks were "no ordinary matter" and assured students that his government was committed to protecting the integrity of public examinations. He said stronger legal provisions were being prepared to curb such offences and restore confidence in the examination system. 

The Prime Minister also announced plans to establish fast-track courts for paper leak cases and indicated that penalties under the anti-cheating law could be further strengthened, including longer prison terms for offenders. 

Modi's remarks came as protests over alleged examination paper leaks continued across India, with students and opposition leaders demanding accountability and wider reforms to ensure transparency in public examinations.
