Malaysian immigration authorities have arrested 52 people, including 10 Bangladeshi men, during a pre-dawn raid on an underground luxury illegal entertainment club in Kuala Lumpur.
The operation, codenamed Ops Gegar, took place around 1 a.m. Saturday in the Cheras district after weeks of intelligence gathering and public complaints.
Officials said the club was operating from the basement of a luxury serviced residence. It was protected by CCTV cameras, three layers of reinforced steel doors, and hidden escape routes designed to delay enforcement officers and help suspects flee.
Kuala Lumpur Immigration Director Hamsha Inzau said the club had been operating for only two months and charged customers up to 1,300 ringgit for a six-hour entertainment package.
Among those detained were four Malaysian citizens believed to be managing the operation. The remaining suspects included 33 Vietnamese women, one Thai woman, 10 Bangladeshis, four Myanmar nationals, and one Chinese national.
Authorities also uncovered 14 rooms inside the premises, with several more under construction.
Investigations are continuing under Malaysia's immigration laws, while 19 Malaysian citizens found at the scene have been called in to assist as witnesses.
The raid involved 40 immigration officers with support from Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
