Bangladeshi photographer and human rights activist Shahidul Alam has reiterated his call for the immediate implementation of the two-state solution following his release from Israel.

Upon arriving in Istanbul on Friday by a Turkish Airlines flight, Alam was received by Bangladesh Consul General in Istanbul, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman.

Thank you, Dr Yunus! And greatly appreciate your message at UNGA — ‘the two-state solution must be implemented now, through the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital,’” Alam said after reaching Istanbul.

Expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people, Alam also used the hashtags #FreePalestine, #FreedomFlotilla, and #IsraeliWarCrimes in his statement.

Alam, a globally acclaimed photojournalist and activist, has long been vocal about human rights and justice issues.

His latest remarks came amid heightened international calls for a lasting resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict through the recognition of a sovereign Palestinian state.
