A shocking act of violence has left the family of a young professional in deep mourning after he was shot dead in his own room in the early hours of Wednesday.
Tanvir Hasan Shuvo, 29, who worked as a general manager for an international marketing company, was reportedly asleep while playing games on his phone with headphones on when the fatal incident occurred at his residence in Maheshwar Pasha area, under Daulatpur Police Station.
According to family sources, Tanvir was preparing to move abroad, adding a cruel twist to the tragedy.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, said that family members, startled by the sound of gunfire around 4:30am, rushed to his room, only to discover three bullet shells scattered across the floor.
He was immediately taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) at around 5am, where doctors recommended transferring him to Dhaka for further treatment. Sadly, Tanvir passed away at KMCH at approximately 7:30am, before arrangements could be completed.
His lifeless body has been kept at the KMCH morgue as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The brutal killing has left the local community in shock, raising urgent questions about security and safety in residential areas.
