Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has taken the seat next to Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman in parliament following the election of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the president.
The third session of the 13th Parliament began at 3pm today with Hafiz Uddin Ahmad Bir Bikram in the chair.
Under the new seating arrangement, the seat next to the Prime Minister, which was previously held by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has been assigned to Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
The first row on the treasury benche has nine seats. Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku, Women and Children Affairs Minister AZM Zahid Hossain, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan and Selima Rahman are seated there.
Amanullah Aman was also allocated a seat in the front row following the rearrangement.
