Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday extended greetings to the people of the country and Muslims around the world on the occasion of the holy Laylatul Qadr.

In a Facebook post, he said Laylatul Qadr is a sacred and blessed night during the holy month of Ramadan when the Holy Quran was revealed.

The Prime Minister noted that Allah the Almighty has declared this night to be better than a thousand months, making it a unique opportunity for believers to seek forgiveness, mercy and blessings.

He said the night offers a special occasion for Muslims to attain closeness to Allah through prayers, repentance and supplication.

Highlighting the significance of Ramadan, he said the holy month inspires self-restraint, spiritual purification, tolerance and the awakening of humanitarian values.

The Prime Minister also said the message of Laylatul Qadr encourages people to establish peace, justice and welfare in personal, social and state life.

Calling upon all to realise the significance of the night, he urged people to engage more in prayers and dedicate themselves to the welfare of humanity.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to shower the infinite mercy and blessings of Laylatul Qadr upon all and guide the nation towards progress, peace, harmony and prosperity.
