A total of 3,263 candidates have been appointed to various entry-level cadre positions in the Bangladesh Civil Service through the 48th Special BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) Examination-2025.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding the appointments on Thursday, 22 January.

Under the health cadre, 2,984 candidates have been appointed as government surgeons, while 279 candidates have been recruited as assistant dental surgeons.

The final results of the 48th Special BCS were previously published by the Public Service Commission (PSC) on 11 September. The PSC had announced the notification for the 48th Special BCS on 29 May last year, with plans to recruit 3,000 doctors—2,700 assistant surgeons and 300 assistant dental surgeons. Subsequently, an additional 500 posts were added.

Currently, the recruitment process for 4,523 doctors under ongoing BCS examinations is underway. Once the recommended candidates of the 48th Special BCS join their posts, alongside doctors from other ongoing BCS examinations, no vacancies will remain.
