BNP has appointed three former army officers to new positions in the security team of party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The appointments were announced in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday night.

According to the release, former Major Mohammad Shafawat Ullah has been appointed as Director of Security, former Major Mainul Hossain as Director of Protocol, and retired Captain Md Gani Ul Azam as Director of Coordination.

Earlier, ahead of Tarique Rahman’s return to the country, former Brigadier General AKM Shamsul Islam had been appointed as the head of his security team.
