A doa and milad mahfil was held at Gulshan Azad Mosque in the capital on Friday afternoon, seeking eternal peace and salvation for the departed soul of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Organised by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the programme began around 4:30pm, with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in attendance.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, along with senior party leaders including Standing Committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, and Dhaka North City BNP Convener Aminul Haque, also attended the programme.
Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate and affiliated bodies, as well as a large number of common people, joined the milad mahfil.
Special prayers were offered after the milad, seeking forgiveness for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia and peace and welfare for the country.
