BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and his daughter Zaima Rahman have completed their National Identity Card (NID) registration process.

Tarique Rahman completed all NID-related formalities at the Election Office on Saturday afternoon.

He had earlier applied online to become a voter before visiting the Agargaon Election Office, where his photograph was taken and fingerprint, iris scan and other biometric data were collected.

According to officials, Tarique applied to be registered as a voter of Ward No 19 in the Gulshan area under the Dhaka-17 constituency.

NID Director General ASM Humayun Kabir said Tarique Rahman is expected to receive his NID within a minimum of seven hours to a maximum of 24 hours after submitting fingerprints.

Zaima Rahman also completed the NID registration process alongside her father, election officials said.
