BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Saturday morning paid tributes at the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inquilab Mancha, at the Dhaka University Central Mosque premises.

After visiting Hadi’s grave, Tarique Rahman left for the Election Commission to complete his National Identity Card (NID) registration.

He reached the Dhaka University Central Mosque premises at around 11:15am. Following the grave visit, he also offered prayers and took part in munajat at the mausoleum of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Earlier, he left his Gulshan residence at around 10:45am.

On Friday (Dec 26), the second day after returning home following one and a half decades in exile, Tarique Rahman visited the grave of BNP founder and martyred President Ziaur Rahman at Zia Udyan. Thousands of party leaders and activists lined the route from Gulshan to welcome him.

As part of his third day’s schedule, Tarique Rahman is set to become a registered voter after visiting Hadi’s grave. Later in the day, he is also scheduled to visit the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital) to meet the July martyrs.
