The government’s preparation for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election is reported to be very good, according to Adviser to the Home Ministry Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

Speaking to journalists on Monday after a meeting of the Core Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat, the Home Adviser said all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a free, fair and festive election.

He added that police personnel are receiving the required training to support these efforts.

Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury also commented on the country’s law and order situation, saying it is under control. “It is not true that people are unable to leave their homes; perhaps some choose not to go out,” he noted.

The Home Adviser further informed that strict instructions have been issued to identify and punish those involved in the killing of a freedom fighter couple in Rangpur.
