The Bangladesh Navy is conducting its annual sea exercise in the Bay of Bengal to strengthen maritime sovereignty and demonstrate wartime operational capability.

Sunday marks the final day of the five-day drill, which features a wide range of naval assets including frigates, corvettes, OPVs, mine sweepers, patrol craft, missile boats, as well as maritime patrol aircraft, helicopters and specialised SWADS forces.

Four advisers — Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Legal Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul, Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman and Environment Adviser Rizwana Hasan — joined the exercise on Sunday.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan accompanied the advisers aboard BNS Khalid Bin Walid as they observed various naval warfare maneuvers.

The closing-day drills include missile firing from ships, shoulder-launched surface-to-air missile firing, anti-aircraft rapid open fire, rocket depth charge deployment, UAV operations, and search-and-seizure demonstrations by naval commandos, along with other tactical displays.
