A total of 198 murder incidents took place in the capital over the past 10 months, according to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

DMP Deputy Commissioner Talebur Rahman disclosed the information on Tuesday morning.

He said the capital witnessed an average of around 20 murders each month during this period. Most of the cases have already been solved, the DMP spokesperson claimed.

Regarding the killing of Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria in Pallabi, he said police are conducting a thorough investigation. One suspect has so far been arrested, while the remaining two will be detained soon, which will help uncover the full details of the murder, he added.

He also mentioned that the victim’s family has not filed a case yet.
