The World Bank Group (WBG) has announced the launch of its highly competitive Young Professionals Program (YPP) 2025, calling for applications from outstanding individuals worldwide who aspire to shape the future of international development.
The program offers a unique opportunity for top talent to learn, grow, and lead while contributing to the World Bank’s mission of building “a world free of poverty on a livable planet.” Many former participants now serve in senior management and technical leadership positions across the WBG, influencing global development strategies.
To apply, candidates must:
Hold a minimum master’s degree in a relevant field, with 2–6 years of professional experience. Be a national of a World Bank Group member country. Complete their postgraduate degree (or substantially complete doctoral research) by September 1, 2026. Have an excellent command of spoken and written English (fluency in other languages is an advantage). Not be a current WBG staff member (though former Bank interns and Junior Professional Associates may apply).
Contract and Terms
Successful candidates will join the program as mid-career staff members (GF level) on a two-year term contract starting September 1, 2026, with the possibility of a renewable five-year contract based on performance. Participants may be posted in Washington, DC or at WBG offices worldwide and must be prepared to relocate. A G-type visa for the candidate and dependents may also be provided.
