The death toll from dengue in Bangladesh has crossed 300 this year, with 10 fatalities reported across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS report said that between 8:00 am Tuesday and 8:00 am Wednesday, a total of 1,069 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide.

Among them, 403 were admitted in hospitals within Dhaka city, 219 in other districts of Dhaka division, 128 in Barishal division, 99 in Chattogram division, 68 in Khulna division, 70 in Mymensingh division, 34 in Rajshahi division, 43 in Rangpur division, and 5 in Sylhet division.

So far this year, 302 people have died from dengue, including 161 men and 141 women.

A total of 74,992 patients have been hospitalized with this mosquito-borne disease across the country since the beginning of the year.
