The undergraduate admission test for the 2025–26 academic session at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will be held on January 10.

According to a decision made at a meeting of the BUET Admission Committee, the application process will begin on November 16 and continue for three weeks.

Professor Dr Abdul Jalil, chairman of the BUET Admission Committee, said the detailed admission notice—specifying the application deadline and requirements—will soon be published in newspapers and on the university’s website.

He said there will be no preliminary (screening) test this year. “The admission test will not be held in two phases as before; only a written test will take place. Other aspects of the exam will remain unchanged,” he added.

Dr Jalil further said there will be no relaxation in the minimum GPA requirement for applicants.

Referring to this year’s HSC results, he said, “The results are fair and realistic this time. Only genuine meritorious students have obtained GPA-5.”

Our eligibility criteria remain the same — applicants must have GPA-5 in the HSC examination, with separate GPA-5 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as required in previous years,” he added.
