BUP student raped on way home in Savar

A student of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) was reportedly raped in Savar’s Birulia union while returning home, police said.Although a case has been filed, police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the incident that took place on Tuesday, according to the victim.The victim filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Savar Model Police Station on Thursday night, accusing three individuals — Sohel Rozario, 37, Biplob Rozario, 40, and Mithu Biswas, 35. Among them, Sohel has been accused of rape, while the other two have been charged with assisting him.According to the case statement, the victim, who tutors students in Savar, returned home on Tuesday evening after giving tuition.
