Health officials today said they recorded 1,432 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.

“During the period, (of the 1,432) 204 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 209 in Chattogram division, 280 in Dhaka division, 170 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 106 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 241 in Khulna division, 112 in Mymensingh division, 57 in Rajshahi division and 53 in Rangpur division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 214 deaths while the disease inflicted 71,536.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
